How to set up an organisation chart [System Administrator]

When submitting a new resource request, the requester can specify a preferred individual to complete the work. When this happens, the resource request will go to the individual's resource manager for review and allocation. In order for this process to work, an organisation chart must be set up in Verto identifying all resource managers and their team members. 

Add a user to the chart

Click on the Administration Cog > Manage Users > Organisational Chart.  Next, click on ‘Add’ in the top right-hand corner of the screen. 

A new pop-up will appear. Search for the user either by scrolling through the list or by typing the first 3 letters of their first or surname. Note: an individual must already exist in Verto (active or inactive) in order to be selectable.

Select the user from the list and click ‘OK’. The user will now be displayed at the top of the screen. 

 

Add a user under a resource manager

Click on the Administration Cog > Manage Users > Organisational Chart. Locate the resource manager within the existing chart and click on ‘Add’.

A new pop-up will appear. Search for the user either by scrolling through the list or by typing the first 3 letters of their first or surname. Note: in order to be selectable, an individual must exist in Verto (active or inactive) and not already be allocated to another resource manager in the chart.

Select the user from the list and click ‘OK’. The user will now be displayed underneath their resource manager.

 

Set up as user as a resource manager

Click on the Administration Cog > Manage Users > Organisation Chart. Locate the user you want to make a resource manager and click on the downward arrow to the right of the ‘Add’ button. Select ‘Edit’.

A new pop-up will appear. Click on the ‘Resource Manager’ checkbox:

Click ‘OK’. 

The user will now have the resource icon next to their entry in the organisation chart - .  Going forward, the resource manager will receive all notifications for any users linked to them and will be able to allocated resource requests.

Delete an individual from the chart

Click on the Administration Cog > Manage Users > Organisational Chart. Locate the user within the existing chart and click on the downward arrow to the right of the ‘Add’ button. Select ‘Delete’. 

Top Tips

  • The organisation/team chart must be maintained as staff start and leave the organisation. 
  •  It is possible to have someone set as a resource administrator and receive all the notifications instead of using the organisation chart.
